The US federal government (The Wind and
Water Power Technologies Office) is holding a public consultation
about a proposed funding scheme for wave energy technologies. The
public are invited to share their views either on a webinar to be
held this Thursday (9am-11am British summer time), or by email
(closing date 25 July). Full details can be found at:

The proposed funding scheme is a design
competition, and will be judged on comparative tank-testing of
short-listed devices. Several rounds of short-listing (stage-gates)
are proposed. The consultation asks what the criteria for each stage
should be, how the funding should be distributed between stages, and
how the judges and administration should be arranged.
ah, Ashutosh has just pointed out it is 6pm - 8pm British time (the direction of the earth's rotation has not reversed). There was a request for registrations for the webinar by Monday; I don't know how solid that deadline is: I've not received word of whether my late request for registration has yet been approved.
